Product Review

I was looking for a modest LCD Television for our guest bedroom and decided on the LG 26LV2500. This seemed to offer essentially the most capabilities in the lowest cost for the use it would get--only when we had guests in our spare bedroom. The set arrived really promptly inside the mfg. original packaging and there was no harm towards the carton and everything was there. It was simple to assemble and set up. Since I was utilizing a fundamental cable connection(no box) I needed only the coax connection. The set scanned for and identified all my cable provider's digital channels, each HD and SD(There are no much more analog transmisions in my location). The picture is bright and clear(at the very least when viewed from bed) and although "only" 720p it looks as very good(to me)as the two big 1080p sets that I already have. The sound is undoubtedly fine for the use it's going to get. All of the settings are effortless to access and adjust and you'll find numerous far more inputs than I will need to have on this set. I did resurrect an extremely old(non blueray) DVD player and connected it employing the composite input--it produced a good picture with normal DVD's. The only factor I identified a bit strange was the power brick. Instead of the set getting power directly from from a 120V outlet, you plug a power brick into the outlet, which has a cord that plugs into the Television. I assume this really is utilized since it is less costly and/or less difficult that trying to design a 120V to 24V power supply which will fit into this extremely thin Television. So overall I'm pleased. (More Detail...)
